The GPLS Information Technology Department provides the following services to Georgia’s public libraries. If you would like more information, please contact us.
Email Services: GPLS hosts multiple email domains on a server that is located in a secure data center. This is a POP/IMAP service together with basic web-based email access. Libraries administer their own users’ accounts via a web interface.
FAQs and video screencasts for libraries using the GPLS hosted email service. This service is currently being migrated to G Suite.
Discussion Lists: GPLS hosts a number of email discussion lists covering topics relating to Georgia’s public libraries. Follow this link for details.
Message Boards: GPLS hosts a message board/forum site, Georgia Libraries Forums, to allow discussions & idea sharing between staff at Georgia’s libraries. Note: your request to join the board should include your name and library affiliation.
Spam Filtering: GPLS-hosted email domains are protected by this service, which scans incoming email messages for Spam and virus infection. GPLS also offers this service to libraries that run their own email servers.
Web Site Hosting: Our WordPress site hosting service runs on an Apache web server, home to multiple sites for the Georgia public library community. Once established, libraries administer create and maintain their sites. GPLS has a resident webmaster who assists libraries with getting their sites designed and established. This service is provided at no cost to Georgia’s public libraries.

Technology HelpDesk: In support of these services, GPLS runs a web-based HelpDesk system that enables libraries to get answers to their technology questions.
